What is Gene Therapy?

Gene therapy is a new therapeutic technology that places genetic material into our cells to treat disease. The first gene therapy, Luxturna, was approved by the FDA in 2017. There are now five FDA approved gene therapies, with dozens more in clinical trials. Complex therapies like gene require greater education for families to make informed treatment decisions.
